Homestead Works

Homestead Works
Photographer: Richard Fitzgibbons
Date: August 1, 2002
Place: Mon River, Homestead & Pittsburgh
Why this photo?
If you lived in Homestead you never saw this sign! Growing up in Homestead in the 50's and 60's I thought I knew "the mill" pretty well, but I never had the opportunity to see it from the water. The sign says much about the changing times of the waterfront. That day in August was the first time I had ever viewed Homestead from the river. Who had a boat in the 50's?
