Why this sign?
It's the weathered door on which this sign appears that prompted me to take the photograph in 1997. A visit to downtown Pittsburgh this December reassured me that both door and sign are still there — but the door's beautiful ragged bottom edge is now hidden by a strip of glavanized steel.
