Why this sign?
I just had a feeling that this sign wasn't long for this world. When I was a kid in the early 70's, seemed like every sign had this general design. Picture didn't come out that great, but when I went back a week or so later to re-take, this sign had been torn down.

Man...I just don't understand people. Why do they tear things like this down? To put up soulless signs that look like everything else today? Thanks for capturing it just in time...

I echo Dan's comments exactly. Of course in this instance they probably had to take the sign down since they were too lazy to maintain it in the first place.

My gawd, I punched in "Duncan Manor" into google images and this came up, throwing me into a tailspin of nolstagia. I grew up near this strip mall, negotiating the 5 way intersection was a rite of passage. Scoring beer from the distributor back in the late 70s/early 80's was source of many fun memories. Thanks for saving the image of a by-gone era.
