Why this sign?
Footer's Dry Cleaners is a family-owned business that has been around since the 1970's. It offers laundry, dry cleaning, as well as tailoring services. There is a total of five stores in Pittsburgh. The main store is on Forbes Avenue in Squirrel Hill, and the rest are in Shadyside, Wexford, South Hills, and Murray Avenue in Squirrel Hill.

There is a huge variety of colors of thread, which also varies in many different types and sizes. In the "repair room", thread is hung from hooks on the wall, showing a great display of colorful chaos.
There is a massive collection of buttons-- sizes varying from extra-small to extra-large, buttons with one hole to buttons with four holes, and clear-colored buttons to black-colored buttons.

Needles and sewing machines are used in order to sew on buttons and hem, take-in, and shorten clothing.

There are at least five different machines to wash, dry, and dry-clean all of the clothes that come in on a daily basis. Shirt collars are hand-scrubbed clean and tough stains are also taken out by hand before clothes are put in machines.

Once clothes are washed and dried, they are ironed and ready to go. Clothes are then put onto hangers and protected by plastic covers, or put into boxes so that one can take clean clothes when traveling.

Earlier than the 70s, they sponsored my Little League team, the Bears, in 1967.
