The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has developed a number of bike routes that cross the entire state. This particular sign is marking Route S which cuts across the southern part of the state. It's 332 miles through all the counties along the Maryland border and most of the route through Fayette County is in the Allegheny Highlands Trail.
