Ligonier Beach

Photographer: Gregory Langel
Date: July 3, 2005
Place: Route 30/Lincoln Highway, Ligonier
Why This Sign?
The peeling sun, the fact that Ligonier Beach is actually a fresh-water swimming pool with a 400 x 125 foot long "beach" along the Lincoln Highway, the half-lit neon, the shape and the red and yellow color scheme, for starters! Not to mention the fact that this destination is a now an historic landmark, was once the state's largest pool, and in an earlier era employed Dean Martin as a towel boy and welcomed enterainer Perry Como.

Love the sign...I'm a sucker for old neon designs.
